Scott Helphrey is a Bismarck native and received his North Dakota Real Estate license in 2018. Shortly thereafter, Helphrey, who’s been a member of the military since 1986, was awarded the nationally recognized Military Relocation Professional Certification. The National Association of Realtors® awards the MRP certification to Realtors® who help military personnel, veterans and their families find housing that lets them make the best use of their benefits and serves the unique needs of military life.
In 2004 Helphrey began working in Higher Education in North Dakota as an Instructional Designer, developing and implementing instructional design and assessment systems and supporting faculty in the development of curriculum to maximize student learning. He’d spend the next 14 years in this field ultimately leading to a master’s degree in the same field of which he’ll complete in 2019 from the University of North Dakota.
Before returning to North Dakota in 2004, Helphrey spent 8 years in southern California where he spent time managing web applications and network systems at Baxter Healthcare.
Prior to moving to California, Helphrey graduated from UND with a bachelor’s degree in business and the US Army School of Aviation as a helicopter pilot. He then spent several years working with the North Dakota National Guard Counter-Narcotics program as a training officer, developing and delivering training for law enforcement across a 15-state region.
Today, Helphrey is still active in the military, continuing work on his master’s degree, and found a passion in real estate while designing the retrofit of his house into a 1950’s craftsman- inspired ranch.
